Hello.  My name is Marylin Newell.  Like you, there was a time in my life when I felt I needed some help coping with some major issues, but it was important to me that I be able to deal with these issues in the context of my Christian faith.  I turned to a Christian Counselor for help.  Through the exercises and conversations with my counselor, God revealed Himself to me and showed me that He had a plan and a purpose for my life (Jeremiah 29:11).  Now I have the opportunity to help others sort out life's difficult situations and discover God's plan and purpose for their lives.

A Christian for over 29 years, I know first-hand how God uses other people to shape us and to help us through life’s trials. My ministry to others is based on my life verse: 

“My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:2)

In 1995 I earned a Masters Degree in Adult Education with a concentration in counseling from the University of Southern Maine. After a long career in higher education, I am now a Registered Counselor with the State of Maine Board of Counseling Professionals with a private practice. Although living in Maine, I work with clients all over the country taking advantage of the great technology available today to meet by phone or live chat.  I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and certified in Continuous Improvement Career Coaching through the University of New Hampshire’s Division of Professional Studies.
